Red Lobster when first started was named “Harbor for Seafood Lovers” with the first restaurant being located in Lakeland, Florida. Bill Darden and Charley Woodsby started the restaurant in 1968 and watched it quickly grown throughout the Southeast becoming well known for their delicious Seafood’s and Steaks. Eventually General Mills acquired the chain and it was then renamed Red Lobster.
